According to Germany on May 11, the German Federal Cabinet has passed amendments to the "Charging pile Regulations".
The amendment states that starting July 1, 2023, charging station operators must guarantee that their charging stations can be paid with ordinary debit and credit cards, such as Master, Girocard and Visa. At the same time, you must support at least one contactless payment, such as NFC or mobile APP.
At the same time, the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs has made it clear that it will subsidize the installation of bank card terminal equipment. No details have been released.
The German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs said that it is taking into account that charging pile manufacturers need time to adjust their products, so the amendment is set to take effect in July 2023. At that time, charging pile manufacturers need to "re-certify" their equipment in accordance with the newly implemented regulations.
1. Equipped with fixed charging cable: now, only charging stations at fast charging points (over 22 kW) need to install fixed charging cables. The amendment requires that normal charging points (up to 22 kW) must also be installed with fixed charging cables.
2. Redefining public charging stations: the previous Charging Post Ordinance defined public and private charging points only on the basis of "public accessibility", that is, whether the parking lot where the charging station is located can be used by anyone.
3. The amendment stipulates that the use of charging points can be restricted to "specific groups of people" as long as "clearly visible signs or labels" are used. The amendment requires that charging piles put into use from March 1, 2022, must have standardized interfaces. This interface is used to authorize and transmit dynamic data about billing data, device operation, and occupancy status.
